Patton Oswalt

On Sunday night Steve, James and I went to see Patton Oswalt at John Jay where he taped a couple of shows for Comedy Central. It was a lot of fun. Afterwards we grabbed a quick bite at the corner joint. The show should be on the air in a couple of weeks. If you simply cannot wait that long then go buy his new CD, "Feelin' Kinda Patton".

Sheila wanted to see D.L. Hughley the following night but it was not meant to be. The tickets showed up at the last minute and there was no way to get to Manhattan without it being a major hassle. No harm, no foul as the tickets were free.

Pets, pets, pets!

We have a little Maltese, Bubbles, who can be a noisy little mutt sometimes. Saturday night we went to Tokyo Steak in Fresh Meadows with some neighbors. We got home around 11 PM and there was a note taped to the door complaining about her barking. We went right online and ordered an electronic dog collar. I hope it works!

Last week, Sheila went to the new Queens Center Mall and brought home a Siamese Fighting Fish from Square Forest. The next day she went and got one for me too. I took him to work and his name is Charlie Murphy.

Our first pet is a parakeet, Kirby. He is the best pet. We've had him for about three years. He goes to bed at night without a fuss and he is always pleasant company.

Bronx Barbecue

A beautiful day, better than Labor Day weekend. This morning Nicholas signed up for basketball season. It will be his first year playing for HF. He played Center on his old team (QOP). It was time for a change.

We headed up to the Bronx to visit my brother, James. My brother, Steven, and his wife, Maribel, were there too. Lots of good food - burgers, franks, chicken and macaroni salad. We got home in time to catch the season finale of "Six Feet Under" which we missed last week.

My parents hit the road tomorrow. They are heading home after a several rough weeks in Florida. Thankfully, there was only minor damage to the Villa.
